Emsella Chair

Emsella Chair

The Emsella chair is a breakthrough new treatment for incontinence.

Electromagnetic energy is aimed at the pelvic floor to cause supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions. This action is similar to doing kegel exercises, but with far more intensity, less effort, and involves sitting on the Emsella chair for 30 minutes.

A 30-minute session is equivalent to the intensity of 11,200 pelvic floor exercises.

Aims to restore neuromuscular control in the pelvic region, particularly pelvic floor muscles and the bladder. By doing so, the pelvic floor muscles are strengthened and improved dramatically; the vaginal walls are tightened and urinary and urge incontinence is decreased.

The results are both instantaneous and ongoing. With as few as six treatment cycles in three weeks, patients strongly agree their incidence of stress urinary incontinence was improved by 95%!

After seeing issues first hand with pelvic mesh and slings for pelvic reconstructive surgeries, gynaecologist, Dr Sonya Jessup set out to find a safe and effective non-surgical option for patients.

The most common pelvic floor issues following childbirth are urinary incontinence, with a sneeze, cough, or even laughter enough to produce leakage and vaginal laxity, which is a sense of ‘openness’ in the vagina and can lead to a decreased sensation during sex. Additionally, the stretching and increased laxity of the tissues causes the bladder to sag over the anterior wall of the vagina, which can interfere with the proper function of the bladder when it is full.
